Secure Business Austria (SBA) is the first austrian competence centre focusing on the organisational and technological aspects of IT security.

SBA was founded in 2006 as an industrial competence centre within the program „K-ind“ of the  BMWA in cooperation with the town of Viena.

Main objective of this research centre is to conduct top research projects in applied areas of IT security in cooperation with the business sectors and academcal partners. Based on an interdisciplinary approach and on a high qualification of research members the SBA is acting as a middleman between science and the business sector. Partners of SBA are small and medium sized austrian businesses and specialist companies active in the area of IT security as well as large companies which face major challenges for securing systems, services and products caused by structural and task-driven issues.
